Sports museum in London
The Arsenal Museum is a sports museum run by Arsenal Football Club in Holloway, north London, telling the club's story from its founding in 1886 to the present. It occupies the Northern Triangle Building immediately beside Emirates Stadium, the club's home since 2006; from 1993 to 2006 it was housed in the North Bank Stand of the old Highbury ground, since redeveloped as housing. The displays bring together a wide range of memorabilia: Charlie George's shirt from the 1971 FA Cup Final, Michael Thomas's boots from the title-deciding match against Liverpool in 1988–89, Alan Smith's shirt from the 1994 Cup Winners' Cup Final and the special gold trophy made to mark the unbeaten Premier League season of 2003–04. The exhibits follow the club from the Royal Arsenal munitions works in Woolwich, south of the Thames, to Highbury and the Emirates, and celebrate figures such as Herbert Chapman, Arsène Wenger and Thierry Henry. The museum attracts more than 120,000 visitors a year and is included in the self-guided Emirates Stadium tour, which passes through the dressing rooms, players' tunnel and pitchside; it is a favourite with football fans from the Arab world and with families.
Wikipedia states the museum is open every day, and on matchdays only from 10:00 until half an hour before kick-off; Wikivoyage (2026) lists Mon–Sat 10:30–18:00, Sun 10:30–16:30 and about £7 for the museum alone, so check the club's official site before visiting as prices and tour times change. Book the stadium tour online if you want it; allow an hour for the museum and two with the tour. The building is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Nearest stations: Arsenal, Holloway Road and Finsbury Park. Holloway Road and Finsbury Park have many halal Turkish and Arab restaurants, and unless you are attending a match, avoid matchdays to escape the crowds.
