Safa Park is a 64 hectares urban park located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is 10.53 km (6.54 mi) southwest of the traditional center of Dubai along Sheikh Zayed Road. The park is bordered by Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Hadiqa Street, and 55th Street.
Safa Park is one of the oldest and largest public parks in Dubai, a planned urban park about ten kilometres south-west of the old centre along Sheikh Zayed Road, bounded by Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Hadiqa Street and 55th Street, with four entrances, one on each. It originally covered 64 hectares; roughly half was removed in 2014 to make way for the Dubai Water Canal, which now runs beside it. The park is known for its wide lawns and mature trees, its lakes with boat rides, and a hill that gives a panoramic view over the greenery to the skyscrapers of Sheikh Zayed Road and the Burj Khalifa. There are football, volleyball and tennis courts, children's play areas, a jogging track and barbecue and picnic areas. It is a favourite with Dubai families and sports enthusiasts, especially in the evenings and at weekends, offering a green pause among the towers.
Entry is a token fee (3 dirhams per Wikivoyage). Late afternoon and evening from October to April are best; weekends are busy with families barbecuing. Bring your own food and a mat; parking is available at the gates. Combine it with a walk along the adjacent Dubai Water Canal promenade. Check which facilities are open, as some were ageing or under construction in recent years.
