Global Village is one of Dubai's leading cultural and entertainment destinations, a seasonal festival held each winter on the outskirts of the city in Dubailand, where countries from around the world set up pavilions showcasing their culture, traditions, crafts and food, each one a replica of its homeland's famous landmarks: the pyramids and hieroglyphs of Egypt, the temples of Thailand, Beijing's Forbidden City, the Eiffel Tower and many more in one place. It is a great carnival as well as a vast bazaar, where visitors buy gifts and products from every corner of the earth at negotiable prices, from Yemeni honey and Indian spices to Turkish clothing and African crafts, and taste the dishes of many nations in hundreds of restaurants and stalls. There is also a funfair and a main stage with folklore shows and concerts by artists from the Arab world, South Asia and beyond, as well as fireworks displays. In 2021 Global Village set a Guinness World Record for the largest word made of pins, and it welcomes millions of visitors every season, making it one of Dubai's best choices for families on winter evenings.
