Architectural landmark in Dubai
The Dubai Frame is an architectural landmark, observatory and museum in Zabeel Park, holding the record for the largest frame in the world. It rises about 150 metres and spans some 93 metres, two towers joined by a sky bridge, so that the void between them frames a living picture of the city: on one side the towers of Sheikh Zayed Road, standing for new Dubai, and on the other Deira, Umm Hurair and Karama, standing for the old. It opened in January 2018 at a cost of AED 160 million. Construction used about 9,900 cubic metres of reinforced concrete, 2,000 tonnes of steel and 2,900 square metres of glass, clad in golden stainless steel equivalent to 15,000 square metres, with proportions inspired by the golden ratio of 1.618. Each tower has 48 floors and high-speed lifts that reach the top in 75 seconds. The visit begins with a ground-floor museum that tells the story of Dubai's growth from fishing village to global city through photographs and interactive technology, then the lift to the sky bridge with its glass-floored walkway, and on the way down a gallery imagining the city's future. The Frame is designed for visitors with disabilities, with ramps, lifts, free wheelchairs and a level observation floor, and it is among the most family-friendly of Dubai's newer landmarks.
Open daily 09:00–21:00; tickets AED 49 for adults and AED 39 for children aged 3–12 (per Wikivoyage, 2026). Capacity is limited to about 200 visitors an hour, admitted in groups of 20, so book a time slot online in advance, especially for the hour before sunset when the light is best on both sides. Allow ninety minutes for the museum and bridge. Zabeel Park around it is good for a picnic and has a prayer room; take the metro to Al Jafiliya or World Trade Centre and walk or taxi from there.
