The Antalya Ethnography Museum is run by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Antalya Museum Directorate and stands in the historic Kaleiçi quarter in the centre of Antalya, at Mermerli Banyo Street No. 17 in the Kılınçarslan neighbourhood. It was created by arranging two restored Ottoman-period mansions, known as the Lower and Upper Mansions, and opened to visitors in 2019 to present the social life, culture and traditions of the city's recent history and folk culture. The first floor of the Lower Mansion displays finds from excavations in Kaleiçi, Seljuk tiles from the theatre of Aspendos, ceramics from Iznik, Kütahya and Çanakkale and handmade glassware, while its second floor shows Ottoman weapons, everyday objects and examples of calligraphy. The Upper Mansion holds architectural pieces from Ottoman buildings, Döşemealtı carpets, weaving looms, rooms refurnished in period style and tableaux of nomadic Yörük life, and its garden contains inscriptions, cannons, cannonballs and tombstones from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Entry is free, and the museum is one of the best places to understand traditional life in Antalya away from the crowded beaches.
According to the official Turkish museums website (muze.gov.tr, 2026) the museum is open daily 8:30–19:00 (ticket office closes 18:30) and admission is free. Allow an hour and combine it with the nearby Kaleiçi Museum and Tekeli Mehmet Pasha Mosque on an old-town walk; it is a few minutes from the Clock Tower square. The lanes are cobbled and sloping, so wear comfortable shoes; the museum suits families.
